So it turns out Michigan lost the chance to work with along side Marvel in the Avengers film 7 months ago and now again with Iron Man 3 the reason being some new law they have in place.

 has the scoop:

Seven months after “The Avengers” decided not to film in Michigan, the state has lost out on an opportunity to attract another blockbuster after negotiations with Marvel Studios to make “Iron Man 3” went awry.

The Hollywood studio had sought between $20 million to $30 million in incentives to film in Michigan, but the Michigan Film Office initially offered just $13 million, causing Marvel to launch talks with other states, said Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, R-Monroe.

The Michigan Film Office upped its offer to $20 million, matching North Carolina, according to Richardville, who tried to attract the movie to the state. But he said Marvel chose to film in North Carolina because it guaranteed the money whereas Michigan’s deal was contingent on future legislative approval. Marvel did not return several requests seeking comment.

“They were more prepared than we were to win that deal,” said Richardville, who was critical of the Michigan Film Office’s handling of the negotiations. “We were seen as a real player and this is a real blow to that reputation.”

The Film Office confirmed the $20-million offer. “We put a competitive and fiscally responsible offer on the table,” said spokeswoman Michelle Begnoche. “They, like projects every day, had to make a business decision.”

The rejection shows the difficulty Michigan faces in attracting major movie productions to the state after dropping its generous incentives in favor of a more limited program.

From Director Tom Six, The Human Centipede 2 [Full Sequence] is the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film in the series, The Human Centipede. He decides to create a “human centipede” of his own but comprised of twelve victims as opposed to the first film’s three.

I’m hearing this flick makes no sense but its gory as hell, I personally enjoyed the first film and I’m looking forward to this one. Hit the jump below to watch the trailer.

Got some pics here of Anne Hathaway in her cat ear costume. Apparently the goggles you have seen her wearing transform into cat ears, not bad.

Pretty awesome stunt captured on video from the set of The Dark Knight Rises.

I went to the movies yesterday and watched two movies that have had my attention for a while Crazy Stupid Love and Warrior. I suppose I’ll review them in the order I watched them.

Crazy Stupid Love

Directed by: Dan Fogelman

Starring: Steve CarellRyan GoslingJulianne Moore, and Emma Stone

This movie starts off with Emily Weaver (Moore) Revealing that she wants a divorce from her husband Cal (Carell) and she cheated on him. Cal falls into a deep depression and catches the eye of ladies man Jacob Palmer (Gosling), after that the movie becomes like “Hitch” where Jacob tries to give Cal the skills to pick up women so he can move on with his life while he himself incidentally falls in love with a lawyer named Hannah (Stone). That is pretty much a big chunk of the movie right there with an addition of some background characters having love issues as well including the baby sitter, Cal’s son and Emily. Overall this movie is not your average everyday romantic comedy it’s along the lines of Love Actually and Hitch but with most of the focus on Carell’s Character. I thought this would have been a chick flick but It really isn’t much of it is in the guy perspective, there is a good heart in this movie and the laughs make it even more enjoyable.

This movie won’t be in theaters much longer if you get a chance watch it, I might pick it up when it comes out on DVD .

Recommendation: Catch it before it’s gone

Rating: 8/10

Directed By: Gavin O’Connor

Starring: Joel EdgertonTom HardyNick Nolte

Now I had to finish the night with some awesome ass kicking MMA fighting so I saw Warrior and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint…much. Brendan (Edgerton) is a high school physics teacher who upon finding out that the bank is about to reposes his house and leave his family homeless decides to go back to fighting to pay the mortgage and keep his house. He enters this huge world tournament called Sparta where the winner is proclaimed Champion of the World and gets a nice big check. There is also his brother Tommy (Hardy) who just came back home and visits his father (Nolte) and also decides to join Sparta and use the winnings to help the family of a fallen comrade he fought with back in Iraq. Now let me tell you, Nolte and Hardy steal the show every scene that they are in together has so much depth hatred and sadness. Nolte and Edgerton have a good scene together as well but it’s not as good as the ones with Hardy. One thing that I didn’t like about this movie was the ending for me it failed to deliver, this emotion was built up and all you want to do is release it and feel satisfied but the ending feels cut off  it hits a wall then the credits roll. Now I didn’t mention how Nolte’s roll is so significant and it’s the glue that keeps the other characters stories connected. The reason being is because you need to see it for yourself I feel that if I share that it takes away some of the emotion from the movie.

Go out today and watch this movie because not only is the story and acting good, The fighting is too.

Recomendation: Watch it now
